What Winter?

It's hard to believe it's Winter. Today the sun is shining, the wind is light, and the water is a very respectable 20 degrees.
The waves didn't look too flash when I arrived at Lighthouse this morning, but it was such a nice morning I paddled out anyway.
The waves improved while I was out there and I am told they got better after I left.
If you get a chance, try and get out there while the waters good . I read that a cold current is heading up the coast.

Other Side

There were some fun waves around on the weekend if you took a little drive.
On Sunday morning Andrew P and I headed across the river and found a few green tubes.
We ran into Matt, the main man from Grape and Petal and had a bank down the beach almost to ourselves.
The waves had some punch.
I saw one broken board and know of at least one other.

There's not much happening wave wise in Town this morning, but if you do a little driving I think there'd be some good waves on offer.

Green and Sandy

There wasn't much happening surf wise when I got to the beach this morning.
There was however, a decent little shorebreak running through at Lighthouse.
So I swam out and took a few on the head so you'd have something to look at over morning tea.
If you are sick of looking at empty barrels hit delete now.

The waves seemed to be sorting themselves out as I left and a few guys were heading out so it could be fun by now.

The boys had the ski out at Middles again this morning.
The swell has dropped and cleaned up a little, but there is still a lot of water moving.
Everyone  out there was having a go and keeping the ski busy, and as usual, Cambo was the stand out.

Motion

There's some motion in the ocean today.
A solid south swell has hit and middles is quite solid.
There were 4 or 5 takers out there and I saw quite a few taken on the head.
The waves are breaking a long way out and the sun wasn't in a great position for photos. But I wasn't keen enough to swim out.
The jet ski definately looked like a good idea today.

Cloudy

Cloudy

Winter arrived on Saturday, and if you were up early you would have been greeted with a blanket of clouds covering the sky.
I wasn't sure how it would work for photos, but it turns out they make a pretty good back drop.

A strong SW wind arrived yesterday and a south swell followed.
It's not too inviting in town at the moment(winter has arrived), but I am sure some of the spots north that handle a decent swell will be firing.
Could be some good waves during the week. Make sure you get some.
