The Bird

The 34th Bird Rock Memorial kicked off this morning in small but clean waves at Middle Rock. The Retro single fins were first up, and I managed to grab a few quick shots before racing off to work. If you get a chance over the weekend get down and check it out. There should be some great action with the areas best surfers competing in memory of those local surfers who are no longer with us. Fortunately I ignored Huddo's dodgy surf report this morning and headed down to Lighthouse. I'm sure the guru is just trying to get the waves to himself sometimes. There were fun waves this morning. I can't believe we're halfway through May. The water is still pleasant in boardies and a jacket. Boogie

There is very little happening surf wise today. The conditions are great, but there is almost no swell. There were good waves around on Saturday. I stopped by the Breakwall about 8.30. Middles

I was shooting Middles this morning from the rocks. The waves looked great and the conditions looked ideal. I confused my ambitions with my capabilities and decided to paddle out with the camera. There were some solid sets and a lot of water moving. I saw some beatings go down, and took a couple on the head as well. During the hour long swim back in I had plenty of time to consider whether or not 2 weet-bix really is enough. Share Forward to Friend If you look close you can see an arm on top of that foam ball.

Delicate

I took the weekend off and met up with some old friend at Crescent Head. The Point was as flat as I've ever seen it, but a small drive and we soon found some small, clean and uncrowded waves. I really need to do this more often. A solid swell has arrived today, and there's waves all up and down the coast. It wasn't doing too much around town, but I'm sure there's some great waves around for those who have some time to go hunting. Share Forward to Friend Sorry ladies, he's taken.
