Harsh

It was hard to find anyone in the water this morning. There's a bit of swell and the wind is offshore, but it's harsh. It seems as though Winter has finally arrived. Camels

There wasn't a lot of swell around yesterday. There was however, sun shining and a light offshore breeze and I managed to find some perfect little barrels down at Camels.   Share Forward to Friend I'm a little bit obsessed with rings lately. Nice and Squeezy.

Somewhere

There must be some great waves somewhere today. Because there were pretty good waves at Breakwall and hardly anybody out there. Andrew and his 8' Softtop pretty much had his pick of the waves. Spray

When I arrived at the beach this morning it was close but not quite happening in Town. Lured by the spray coming from behind the North Wall I decided a quick ferry trip was in order. There were some great waves coming through over there but the sun made it hard to shoot and there was a bit too much water moving for this old guy to swim out. I'm told that now the tide has gone out a bit there are some great waves on offer. If you can, turn off your computer and go for a surf. Share Forward to Friend The other side.   Looking back.

Closeout

The high tide had just turned when I got to the beach this morning. There were a few surfers out and some fun sized waves, but they were mostly close-outs. As the tide started running out, the end of the wall started doing it's thing and the bodyboarders started appearing. It looked so inviting I had to swim out, but with a small window of opportunity I didn't have much luck. I suspect there could be some nice waves down there by now with a bit lower tide. Gidgets and Grommets

I headed down to Town Beach last night hoping for a late afternoon slide. There was a fun little wave running through Chickens, but there was a pile of kids and ladies out enjoying the gentle waves and it just would have been weird to paddle out and hassle them. I kind of wish I had though, it's junk this morning. If you have some jobs you've been putting off it's probably a good day to get them out of the way. A strong cold southerly is making a mess of most beaches and the protected corners aren't doing much at this stage.   Share Forward to Friend Sharing is caring - but don't ding your Bing.   Cainy and a stoked grom.   It wasn't just the surfers enjoying a sunset ride.   Even the kids were sharing - kind of.
