High Tide

Despite perfect conditions and a nice little swell, the waves were pretty average this morning due to the large high tide.
It was a strange combination of surfers in the water, ranging from a guy trying a longboard for the first time, a guy on a 70's Jackson singlefin, a couple of bodyboards and Cainy making the waves look much better than they were.

Looking at the forecast, it looks like it could go either way for the weekend. Fingers Crossed.

Right In Front

It's a perfect sunny morning. There's a nice little East swell and light offshore breeze.
Unfortunately, the the tide was a bit high this morning and most of Lighthouse had gutless, fat waves breaking.
After swimming around disappointed for a while, I noticed a couple of guys sitting on a fun little left right in front of the clubhouse.
By now the tide should have dropped a bit and there should be some fun waves out there.
Go get some if you can.

Waves

After a run of ordinary conditions, there were waves again today.
The wind had a bit of North in it and Lighthouse was definitely the pick.
There's a fun size swell and there were some good rides going down.

The Office.

Some days I can spend all morning taking photos and still struggle to come up with enough decent shots to fill the page.
Today was looking like one of those mornings until Matt Banting strolled down and paddled into his office.

In less than half an hour, he made some very ordinary waves look good and left me with a pile of keepers to go through.

You don't have to surf like Banting to have fun.

Sneaky Ones.

The Nor-Easter was up early today, leaving Lighthouse as the only real option.
It was a bit untidy, and the wind and clouds wasn't making a surf very inviting.
For those that went to the trouble of paddling out though, there were some good waves amongst the junk.

Not Much Happening

There's not much to get excited about wave wise this morning.
There is some swell around, but it's not being delivered in a very nice way.
Lighthouse is the best option if you are desperate, but it might be a good day to catch up on some jobs.

Here's a few pics from Friday. It doesn't look much like this today.
