I've had a bit of a lousy week and I've struggled to get enthused to take photos. I snapped out of it last night and dragged the camera out to shoot some fun looking waves at Breakwall. The waves look good today and the water is super warm, so if you can turn off your computer, throw on some boardies and go surfing.
There were some great waves at Lighthouse Beach over the weekend. No epic barrel rides, just good fun running waves with a bit of push. Along with the bump in swell came quite a sweep and I spent a couple of hours Saturday afternoon swimming with the camera like a Salmon heading upstream.

After a couple of ordinary days there was a decent little swell pushing through this morning. Most of the beaches seemed to have a decent wave on offer. I shot at Lighthouse which had a bit more swell than town.
I stopped off at Town Beach on the way home last night. There were decent looking waves all along the beach, but with the run out tide kicking in most of the action was off the end of the breakwall. There was a pretty big crowd formed on the end of the wall. I guess if you didn't grow up here it would be pretty amazing watching the bodyboarders throwing themselves into barrels just metres from the rock wall.
Today the waves are perfect... if you're learning to surf or a grommet on holidays. The sun is shining and the waves are small and clean. The level of skill in today's photos are probably a bit lower than normal, but the fun being had has never been higher.
