The waves are small, clean and mostly closing out at Lighthouse today. Perfect if you're a kid on holidays trying to be the next Medina. The wind is supposed to swing around to the south again tomorrow. Hopefully there will be enough swell for Town.
Sunny weather has definitely set in and along with it a lot more Nor-East winds. Lighthouse Beach is usually the beat option this time of year. There were some decent looking waves out there yesterday morning when I grabbed these pics. A quick drive past this morning and it looked very inviting. It seems a bit smaller and a bit cleaner today.
I made a rare (for me) early appearance at the beach this morning and when I arrived it looked rubbish. After driving up to the Lighthouse and watching the sun rise I was pleasantly surprised when I returned to find the waves had tidied up and looked pretty good.
There are waves to suit most surfers today. Most beaches have something. Town Beach had long small waves peeling through Chickens and shorter waves with a bit more punch at the Breakwall. As the tide is dropping I'd say that the waves are probably getting better as I type. Being holidays there are plenty of people in the water, but there seems to be plenty of waves to go around.
It's school holidays which means crowds, drop ins and chop hops. There are some decent waves around this morning and if the wind behaves itself it could be even better as the tide runs out.
