After a long long run of cloudy, stormy afternoons the last two evenings have been much more pleasant. With clear skies, warm water and fun waves, Town beach has been the perfect way to end of the days. As is usually the case, these conditions have attracted a big crowd and it was a bit of a zoo at times. Here's hoping for more this afternoon.
The swell and wind were both ideal for Breakwall this morning, but the tide just wasn't quite playing it's part. There was a little shore break happening so I went for a swim. In the time it took to get changed the sky went from blue to grey. But I was there so I took a few shots anyway.
It could be good out there later. Keep an eye out for a turtle in the line-up. He's good at holding his breath and seems to be camera shy.
Not many days go by where I don't sit in my car at the Town Beach headland and check what the surf is doing. Today I shot photo's from up there for a different perspective.
The waves were similar to yesterday, but a bit smaller. The crowd was definitely a lot thinner.
The waves could go either way when the tide turns shortly, but either way the ocean looks like a nice place to be today.
There were a few fun waves at Breakwall this morning, despite the huge high tide. The wind was offshore and light, and there was even some sun shining.
The forecast is for the offshore wind to continue during the day, so there could be some great waves as the tide drops.
Firstly, my apologies for the lack of photos recently. I've been juggling a few to many projects lately, but I'm almost back on track.
It was good to be back in the water this morning. The sky was pretty grey but there were a few fun waves if you were on the right equipment, and the right equipment was something with a lot of foam.
The sun is starting to push through and there could be some great waves as the tide runs out.
